The world so far has been based on an agrarian model; mom and dad own the farm, raise the kids with the full mutual expectation that the kids will inherit the farm and care for the parents, and the cycle repeats endlessly. The industrial age has brought devaluing of elders and perhaps a devaluing/disregard for the children. Is child care evidence of that ??? We have arguably changed our concept of a basic family unit, but to what? We do not have an apparent end-game. What are your thoughts????
